NEWLY-appointed Vice-Chancellor of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU) Dr Subhash Chaudhary inaugurated the three-day online national Webinar on Performance Based Appraisal System — Academy Performance Index (PBAS-API) for College Directors of Physical Education and Sports on Tuesday. The three-day event has been jointly organised by Post Graduate Teachers Department (PGTD) of Physical Education, Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU), Institute of Science and JM Patel Arts, Commerce and Science College, Bhandara in collaboration with MB Patel College, Sakoli, NMD College, Gondia and Tai Golwalkar Mahavidyalaya, Ramtek.
Speaking during Webinar, Dr Chaudhary lauded the efforts taken by the organisers in organising the first of its kind Webinar of the country during this COVID-19 pandemic. He said the Online Workshop is a new initiative for knowledge up gradation in the university during this COVID-19 period. Dr Muralidhar Chandekar, VC, Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University, said that physical education colleges will play a very important role in making youth fit in this time of pandemic.
Similarly, all those associated with education sector will also have to take help from physical education teachers in keeping their bodies fit. Around 200 participants from all over the country are participating in the Webinar. Dr Piyush Jain, Secretary, Physical Education Foundation of India, New Delhi, Dr Ramdas Atram, Director, Institute of Science, Dr Haresh Trivedi, Principal, MB Patel Arts, Commerce and Science College, Sakoli, Dr Vikas Dhomne, Principal, JM Patel Arts, Commerce and Science College, Bhandara, Dr Sharda Mahajan, Principal, NMD College, Gondia, Dr Rajesh Singru, Principal, Tai Golwalkar Mahavidyalaya, Ramtek were also present during the inaugural programme. Dr Madhavi Mardikar, Co-ordinator, PGTD, RTMNU and Head of Physical Education and Sports Department, Institute of Science informed about the importance of the Webinar She also explained the terms of API-PBAS concern with order issued by UGC and Maharashtra Government and also explained the areas to focus for getting benefit in the API-PBAS. The session was compared by Dr Amit Tembhurne. The opening day programme was compered by Dr Amit Tembhurne while Dr Romi Bisht proposed a vote of thanks.
