Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for MSME on Sunday inaugurated Centre of Invention, Innovation, Incubation and Training (CIIIT), a joint venture of Shri Ramdeobaba College of Engineering and Management (RCOEM) and Tata Technologies Limited (TTL) at a function held here. “Innovation, technology and research will pave the way for Aatmanirbhar Bharat,” said Gadkari who was the chief guest at the inauguration function. “The present scenario has opened up new set of opportunities for the nation and the world is looking favourably towards India”. He said that India’s growth story will depend upon innovation, technology and research. He opined that educational institutions such as RCOEM will play a major role in research and joint ventures such as this will bring practical experience inside the class. He emphasised that practical experience is essential and should be used to complement theory.
 
He also apprised the audience about some of the proposals being considered by the ministry. He expressed his happiness and said that more such initiatives are required as it will be instrumental in promoting the cause of Aatmanirbhar Bharat. He said it is good for Nagpur and Vidarbha that such a centre has come up and he congratulated the entire team and wished them good luck for the future. Sushil Kumar Singh, Director, Government projects and Skill Development, Tata Technologies informed the audience how the process of creation of this center started. Singh, said, “In promoting the cause of practical application of theory, CIIIT will provide a platform for students to experiment and test theory.”
 
He informed that TTL intends to collaborate with RCOEM for development of electric vehicles eco-system in Nagpur. Satyanarayan Nuwal, Vice-Chairman of RCOEM and Chairman of Solar Industries thanked TTL for collaborating with RCOEM and assured the audience that centre will live upto the expectations of all the stakeholders. Dr R S Pande, Principal of RCOEM apprised the audience about various developments and achievements of the college. He informed that RCOEM is introducing 5 new courses BE in Data Science, Cyber Security, AI & ML and Biomedical and M.Tech in Robotics and Automation from academic session 2020-21. The course contents and training designed for the students of CIIIT enables the competency development in modern engineering tools.
 
CIIIT comprises of modern shop-floor machines and equipment like, Vertical Machining Centre, Manufacturing Execution System, Arc Welding Robot, Pick and Place Robot, 3-D Printer, 3-D Scanner and Internet of Things sensor kit etc. Further, availability of about 10 professional softwares like, MSC Nastran, Patran, Adams Machinery Studio, 3-D Experience, Delmia, scFLOW, Marc, Easy5, FEAST and i-get-it adds tremendous technological values to aspiring technocrats of next generation. Also present were Shaymsunder Rathi, Chairman Steering Committee, Ashok Pacheriwala, Treasurer, RCOEM, Rajendra Purohit, Secretary, RCOEM, Advocate Pardeep Agrawal and Dinesh Agrawal, Anand Bhade, President, Asia Pacific, TTL, P V Kaulgud, Global CEO, Director, Electrical and Education, Harsh Gune, CEO, Vidarbha Defence Industrial Hub, Architect Rajendra Dongre and faculty members of RCOEM.
