RAMTEKE brothers, Sumedh and Ayush, clinched the top two positions in the Third Online Rapid Chess Tournament organised by Nagpur District Chess Association. The two-day event was organised through the platform of lichess.org. Only Nagpur district players were allowed to participate in the competition which had a total prize money of Rs 3000. Elder brother Sumedh won the title with 7.5 points from maximum eight while the younger Ayush followed him at the second spot with 6.5 points.
Krishna Taori ended up third with 6.5 points. Total 45 players participated in the tournament. In all 8 rounds were played with the time control of 10 min + 5 sec increment each to finish the game. The tournament was conducted under the supervision of IA Swapnil Bansod, IA Pravin Pantawane and FA Umesh Panbude. TOP TEN: Sumedh Ramteke (7.5), Ayush Ramteke (6.5), Krishna Taori (6.5), Aditya Bodkhe (6), Rujul Shinde (6), Aastha Turankar (5.5), Sushant Jumde (5.5), Jay Savalakhe (5), Samir Kalgaonkar (5), Harsh Nachankar (5).
