Majority of people belonging to Bhoyar and Pawar castes are staying in Wardha and Nagpur districts sincepastgenerations.Thecaste isidentifiedasBhoyarandPawar and these names are being used as a similar on records.
When people apply for a caste validity certificate, theofficialsaskforthe proof before 1967.Thecastewritten on Kotwal record or school leavingcertificateisBhoyarwhile the caste written on School Leaving Certificate of children and their parents is Pawar. This is the reason, people belonging to this caste find it very difficult to get a caste validity certificate. All the castes are mentioned in Maharashtra Government’s schedule 189 as Powar, Pawar, Bhoyar, Bhoir, Bhoyeer etc and the caste verification committeedeniesthevaliditytothepeople. The Government should issue caste validity certificates to all the members belonging to these castes. The Government should direct the district collectors toprovidecastevaliditycertificatesandcorrecttheerrors in this record.”
