Temples and shops in Gwarighat submerged as Narmada swells following continues discharge of water from Bargi Dam.

As moderate to heavy downpour in the catchments area of the Bargi Reservoir is continue, the water-level of the dam is again rising gradually. As per the conditions at 6 pm, on Saturday the water-level of the reservoir was recorded to 421.50 meter.
The full water-level of the dam is 422.76 meter. As per the information received from the control room of Bargi Dam, the reservoir has been receiving 2500 cumic water while it has been releasing total 1,036 cumec water including 200 cumec for power station, 814 cumec from gates, 17 cumec from Left Bank Cannel and 5 cumec from RBC. Sub Engineer, Rani Avanti Bai Lodhi Sagar Pariyojana (Bargi Dam), R R Rohit informed that looking to huge inflow of water into the dam, the Dam authorities may rise the height of the gates or open additional gates of the dam any time to maintain water level.
Due to heavy downpour in the catchments area of Bargi Reservoir, water-level of the Dam is rising gradually. Rohit informed that at present the dam authorities have opened 11 gates to half metre height to maintain required water level into the dam. It may be noted that the Dam authorities had on Tuesday last opened as many as 13 gates of the reservoir to 2.96 metres height. At the time the water level of the reservoir was 422.04 metre.
