A handful of special trains being operated have lessened the work of ticket checking staffers. However, the ticket checking squad of Jabalpur division, under the direction of Sr DCM (Coaching) Manoj Kumar Gupta, cracked the whip against errant passengers found violating preventive steps to contain spread of coronavirus during the journey.
 
On Monday, a team of ticket checking squad carried out special checking drive from 3.30 to 5.30 pm. According to information from Sr DCM (Coaching), Manoj Kumar Gupta, on Monday, a team of checking staff carried out check of passengers at Jabalpur station for two hours. In course of checking drive, passengers found without the mandatory face mask were imposed penalty and instructed to use face mask so as to contain spread of coronavirus.
 
During inspection passengers who entered the railway platform were checked by the staff. Passengers found violating the mandatory physical distancing were reprimanded and those without face mask were penalised. Barring a few passengers, most people were found following COVID protocol. The checking staff also penalised food vendors not in uniform and imposed fine. During the checking drive, two important trains, Varanasi-bound Mahanagri Express and Rajendra Nagar Patna-bound Janta Express were checked by the staff of Jabalpur division.
