Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan reached Khategaon tehsil of Dewas district on Friday to take stock of damaged soybean crop. Interacting with farmers and villagers at Krishi Upaj Mandi premises of Khategaon, CM said that loss incurred in soybean crop will be compensated.
 
Compensation combining both crop insurance and relief amount will be paid to the farmers against the loss. He mentioned that the State Government is with the farmers in this hour of crisis. Chouhan said that he was apprised of the damage, being caused to soybean crop in Khategaon two days ago by the Member of Parliament Ramakant Bhargava. In such a situation “I decided to go amidst the farmers in this hour of crisis”.
 
He said that this is a time of crisis. Corona pandemic has hit the economy hard. A large amount is being spent on the treatment of corona patients. Even in such a time, State Government will give adequate compensation to the farmers against crop loss. He informed that the last date for registration under the crop insurance scheme has been extended till August 31. District administration has been instructed to get insured all types of farmers with debt as well as without debt before the last date with priority.

 
CM to review crops in 3 distts of Bhopal Divn
  
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will review the status of crops in three districts of Bhopal Division, including Sehore, Raisen and Vidisha. Chouhan will visit the rural areas of the three districts on Saturday to review the status of crops. He will also hold discussions with farmers and officials. Notably, after revival of monsoon activities, State is receiving bountiful rains. Incessant rains inundated the fields, damaging the standing crops in most parts of State. Mainly soybean crop has got damaged due to excess rainfall. ‘The Hitavada’ had recently published a story highlighting the issue that torrential rains have damaged crops badly and now farmers are in deep problem. They are even planning to do demonstration if Government does not pay heed to their problem.
