Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test Cell has come up with the dates of examinations of Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT CET). The CET for Physics Chemistry Biology (PCB) group will begin on October 1 while for Physics Chemistry Mathematics (PCM) group will begin on October 12. A lot of confusion was created about holding Common Entrance Test for the admissions to engineering, agriculture and pharmacy courses.

The speculation that CET would not be conducted and on the basis of marks scored in Class XII students would get admission was also on. The MHT CET is conducted for the admissions to engineering, agriculture and pharmacy courses. After receiving official permission to conduct CET and announcement of dates for CET from Higher and Technical Education Department, CET Cell came up with revised dates. The dates for PCB group are October 1, 2, 4,5,6, 7, 8, 9 while of PCM are 12,13, 14, 15,16,19,20. Commissioner and Competent Authority of State CET Cell has made it clear that the detailed schedule and link for downloading admit card would be made available on the official website and candidates are expected to visit the website www.mahacet.org for updates.

Meanwhile Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) has extended the registration to be made by students for the admission to Post-SSC Diploma engineering and post-HSC Diploma engineering. The DTE under Dr Abhay Wagh, Director has come up with an idea of E-scrutiny for the first time this year. Accordingly the last date for the registration for the admissions to post-SSC diploma was fixed as August 10.

Later on DTE changed the dates and extended it to September 21. During registration students are expected to upload the documents. Documents verification and confirmation of application forms will be held by September 21. Provisional merit list would be displayed on September 24 while grievances will be checked between September 25 and 27. Final merit list will be displayed on September 29. Same schedule is applicable for the admission process of post-HSC Diploma engineering course.
