SITABULDI Police arrested two more goons in connection with the sensational murder of notorious gambler Kishor alias Balya Binekar, who allegedly had ordered weapons from Snapdeal and Amazon, to eliminate the gangster-turn Saoni Bhjojnalaya owner. The accused have been identified as Adarsh alias Pappi Khare (23), a resident of 12 Signal, Borkar Nagar, and Ravi alias Chintu Suresh Nagachari (32), a resident of Telangipura, Siraspeth. Third accused, Aniket Yashwant Manthapurwar, a resident of Faras, Zingabai Takli, is still at large. Investigations revealed that Adarsh Khare and Chinti Nagachari had procured the weapons on-line.
Earlier, Crime Branch had arrested Chetan Sunil Hazare (30) Rajat Raja Tambe (22), both residents of Borkar Nagar, 12 Signal Bharat Rajendra Pandit (22),a resident of Jattarodi No 1, Indira Nagar, Imambada and Aseem Vijay Luderkar (28), a resident of 12 Signal, in this connection for brutally killing Balias alias Kishor Binekar (48) in his Hyundi Verna car (MH-49/AS-200) with sharp-edged weapons in full public view at traffic signal near Bole Petrol Pump on Amravati Road in broad daylight on Saturday. Binekar, who used to run a gambling den and a chain of eateries in the city, including two Saoji Bhojnalaya near Bridge No 10, Kamptee Road, in Pachpaoli area, and Golibar Chowk, was killed by five persons with an axe and knives allegedly over financial transactions.
The accused who were on two Honda Activa and a Royal Enfield motorcycle, following Binekar’s car, had smashed the windowpane of Binekar’s car when he stopped at the traffic signal. One of them on a Royal Enfield motorcycle first blocked his car at the signal. Others came after parking their two-wheelers near the petrol pump and started attacking him with an axe and knives. While trying to save himself, Binekar came out of his car and collapsed. On the basis of the CCTV footage, the Crime Branch had nabbed four accused. Later, cops arrested two others for procuring weapons for them.
Facing charges under Sections 143, 144, 147, 148, 149, 341, 302 of the Indian Penal Code, read with Sections 3+23, 4+25 of the Arms Act and 37(1), (3) and 135 of the Maharashtra Police Act, the accused with produced before the court by Sitabuldi Police and obtained remand for their custodial interrogation till October 5. After killing Binekar, the accused had also taken away Rs five lakh cash and a revolver from the utility box of Binekar’s car. Even as investigators maintained that accused Chetan Hazare had hatched plan to eliminate Binekar to avenge his father Sunil’s murder, possibility of a case of contract killing cannot be ruled out.
