Taking strict action against those creating uncleanliness at public places, the Health Department team of the Jabalpur Municipal Corporation (JMC), on Thursday conducted drive in many areas of the city and realised spot fine from erring people. Senior officials of the department also took spot fine from street vendors, shopkeepers and other businessmen for not keeping dustbins at their establishments.
 
In-charge Health Officer, Bhupendra Singh informed that senior officials of the department on Thursday continued the on-going drive and issued challan 119 people including shopkeepers and vendors and realized a fine of Rs 17,350from them. Singh said Administrator, B Chandrashekhar and Municipal Commissioner Anoop Kumar Singh have directed the health department to continue the drive at important places in all 79 wards of the city and take strict action against those creating uncleanliness. The duo officials have also asked senior officials to create public awareness towards cleanliness through different ways and urge people to help keeping the city clean.
 
Accordingly, the teams of health department, led by senior officials are continuously carrying out drive and acting tough against citizens who despite appeal are making public places dirty. Incharge Health Officer said the Municipal Commissioner is reviewing the drive and giving fresh directions daily. He has asked the senior officials to act sternly against those dumping garbage along the roads or throwing it in drains, nullahs and making public places dirty by any means.
