PCRA creating awareness on fuel conservation

‘SAKSHAM-2021, a month-long campaign on fuel conservation, was formally launched in the State recently by Governor of Maharashtra Bhagat Singh Koshyari at a virtual event. The task of sensitizing citizens about the conservation of fuel is led by the Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA)
 
‘SAKSHAM-2021’, a month-long campaign on fuel conservation, was formally launched in the State recently by Governor of Maharashtra Bhagat Singh Koshyari at a virtual event. PCRA, under the aegis of Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas and State Level Coordinators of Oil Industry take up various initiatives with active involvement and support from the concerned State Government to spread mass awareness.
 
Addressing a press conference here on Friday, G K Deshmukh, Senior Manager in IOC and District Co-ordinator, said that during the event, the Governor of Maharashtra along with all the participants took the pledge on conservation of fuel. “This year, the evnt is being conducted from January 16 to February 15, 2021, with the theme ‘Green and Clean Energy’,” he added. A Gangwal, Sales officer; and Rajeev Narvekar, Manager, were also addressed the press conference.
 
Under the campaign, events such as debates, cycle rally, wall painting competitions and quizzes, training for LPG distributors, agricultural workshops for farmers and contests are being conducted across various centres by oil marketing companies including BPCL, HPCL and IOC and gas processing and distribution companies like GAIL India.
