RAIPUR,

Amid speculation of change of guard in Chhattisgarh, All India Congress Committee (AICC) In-charge for Training Sachin Rao, who is a strategic advisor to Rahul Gandhi’s team, reached Raipur on Tuesday. Sachin Rao was welcomed by Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel at Swami Vivekananda Airport Raipur. Agriculture Minister Ravindra Choubey, Forest Minister Mohammad Akbar and other Congress leaders also welcomed Sachin Rao. Sachin Rao inspected development works being carried out by Baghel-led Government in Chhattisgarh. Sachin Rao along with Baghel inspected Gothans, Swami Atmanand English Medium School, Sanjeevani Herbal Centre and other places and observed the Congress Government’s ambitious projects. Later, he reached state Congress party office Rajiv Bhawan, where he was welcomed by the Congress workers. Meanwhile, amidst the ongoing political crisis in the name of rotational Chief Minister in Chhattisgarh, Health Minister T S Singhdeo is reported to be camping in Delhi.

The Congress party sources claimed that Singhdeo may stay in Delhi till Thursday and may meet some senior Congress leaders. Earlier, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel had met Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Saturday after the Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting in Delhi. Speculation about a possible change of guard in Congress-ruled Chhattisgarh has been going on for the past few months. As per party sources, the pro-Bhupesh Baghel camp has stated that there is no such thing as power sharing formula and expressed displeasure over an unnecessary media hype on the matter despite senior congress leaders completely denying any such power sharing commitment. Though Congress leader and Health Minister Singhdeo has allegedly been pitching for a rotational tenure of the Chief Minister as per an earlier commitment. After the Bhupesh Baghel-led government completed two-and-a-half years in office in June, the supporters of T S Singhdeo raised the issue of rotational chief ministership. Congress won the Chhattisgarh Assembly Elections-2018 with a thumping majority. The then CPCC President Baghel was made the Chief Minister. T S Singhdeo was the head of the manifesto committee in the election and CLP leader then.
