Mineral Exploration Corporation Limited, a Nagpur-based Mini Ratna I CPSE of Ministry of Mines observed 50th Foundation Day on Thursday and commenced the Golden Jubilee Year celebration. Maintaining the COVID 19 protocol, Dr Ranjit Rath, CMD, MECL, graciously unfurled the corporate flag at the corporate office premises in the presence of Ghanshyam Sharma, Director (Finance), Arvind Kumar, Director (Technical), and Team MECL. Thereafter, the event was inaugurated by Pralhad Joshi, Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Coal and Mines, by a speech delivered through digital platform. Addressing the employees, Dr Rath outlined the significant contributions of MECL during the last five decades for the mineral and mining sector.
He commended every member of Team MECL for accomplishing ‘Excellent’ MoU ratings for the FY 2019-20 and superlative physical and financial performance for the FY 2020-21. In his address, Dr Rath also shared the Vision 2030 of MECL along with the planned diversification initiatives and a concerted strategy to enhance and expedite exploration coverage of the country. MECL has recently augmented its capability through addition of advance geological softwares for preparation of Interpretative 3D Geological & Ore Body models; established an ultra-modern laboratory for geochemical analysis and has developed an integrated training programme for capacity development of the mineral and mining sector. Acknowledging support of the esteemed clients -Ministry of Mines, Ministry of Coal and the major mining CPSEs, Dr Rath called upon each members to strive for a glorious future of MECL.
