Barkatullah University (BU) conducted its convocation ceremony on Tuesday for session 2019-20. A total of 186 students received their degrees during the programme. Cultural programme was held at Minto Hall where students received their degrees. According to university officials 73 PG and 68 PhD degree holders received degree during occasion. All these students received their degrees in Indian attire. Students have submitted Rs 1,000 each for the attire. After returning the uniform, their amount will be refunded. In the memory of Justice K K Shukla, his spouse Professor Mona Purohit rewarded gold medal from Law Department.
The medal was rewarded to the first rank holder in Law Department. There was also Jindal Foundation gold medals. The convocation was held in offline mode. Consent for the programme was given by Governor Mangubhai Patel. The university has this year banned traditional robes and said to distribute degrees in India attire. Students were asked to appear in the ceremony wearing white Kurta and Payjama for male and white Salwar Kurta or cream colour saree for female. The university provided jacket, scarf, turban, etc during the programme.
