C’garhi film director Manoj Verma wins National Film Award

Chhattisgarhi film director Manoj Verma was conferred the 67th National Film Award at a ceremony in Delhi on Monday. Manoj Verma received the prestigious award from Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu for his Chhattisgarhi film ‘Bhulan the Maze’. Manoj Verma’s Chhattisgarhimovie ‘Bhulan the Maze’ was adjudged the best feature film in regional language.
 
The award was presented by Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu. Artists of Chhollywood congratulated Director Manoj Verma for receiving the prestigious National Film Award. A grant of Rs 1 crore was announced by the Government of Chhattisgarh for this film. Director Verma told ‘The Hitavada’ that the movie ‘Bhulan the Maze’ would be released in all theatres of the state in April, 2022. Director Manoj Verma’s ‘Bhulan the Maze’ became the first Chhattisgarhi movie to receive the National Film Award. Earlier the film had earned the distinction of being the first Chhattisgarhi film to go to International and National Film festivals. The film has been screened in various National Film Festivals including Kolkata, Gwalior, Delhi, Orchha, Azamgarh, Raipur, Raigarh and International Film Festivals in Italy and California. The film is based on the story of Sanjiv Buxy’s novel Bhulan Kanda.
