Schools will re-open on November 11

Even as examinations or tests are in progress in various schools, School Education and Sports Department of State Government has declared Diwali holidays for schools in Maharashtra from October 28 (Thursday) to November 10. The Government circular in this regard was issued on Wednesday, with signature of Rajendra Pawar, Joint Secretary of the department. As per the circular, there shall be no online and offline teaching between October 28 and November 10. The schools in rural as well as urban areas of the State had started offline classes from October 4.

Following the COVID-19 guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures, schools have been conducting offline classes by dividing various sections into smaller batches. As the teaching-learning process gained momentum, many schools planned examinations that are scheduled to end on October 29. However, with the Government issuing circular on Wednesday, many schools were in dilemma about continuing the examinations.
