DURG,

Durg Lok Sabha MP Vijay Baghel has raised questions on the State Government’s decision to start buying paddy from December 1. He said that at present harvesting has started in most of the villages. In such a situation, the state government’s decision to start paddy procurement from December 1 is anti-farmer. “It seems that the State Government has not learned any lesson from its past experience. Last year’s paddy is wasted even today in the paddy collection centers. Farmers are troubled by the shortage of gunny bags. The amount of gunny bags has not been received yet. Also, two instalments of bonus amount have not been received and the State Government has announced to release the third instalment of the bonus amount on November 1. A loan of Rs 1 thousand crore has been taken by the State Government to give bonus amount.

This is the first Government of Chhattisgarh, which is immersed in the debt of farmers,” asserted MP Vijay Baghel while addressing the media in Durg district BJP office on Thursday. MP Vijay Baghel said that when the purchase of paddy starts from December 1, there is no question about when the farmers will get the fourth instalment of the bonus of the previous year and the amount of the new crop. The State Government does not have any concrete plan for the purchase of paddy. Due to which the system of paddy collection centres and societies has collapsed. MP Baghel said that during the previous Raman Government of BJP, the procurement of paddy used to start in the month of November and the money of crops used to reach the accounts of farmers before Diwali. Due to which the enthusiasm of Deepawali was doubled among the farmers, but ever since the Bhupesh Baghel Government has come in Chhattisgarh, there is only confusion with the farmers. Due to which the farmers are upset.
