THREE athletes of Khelo India Athletics Centre, which is being run at Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU) ground, have been selected in Maharashtra athletics squad that will participate in the 3rd National 400 Metres National Championship.
The championship is going to be held at Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi on October 11 and 12.
Arya Kore, Bhavyashree Mahalle and Vidita Meshram have been selected for the nationals which will see around 45 athletes from all over the country fighting for the top spot.
Arya had participated in the 65th Schools Nationals held at Singoor in Punjab. She participated in 100 and 200 metres events.
Bhavyashree had finished a creditable fourth in 2000 metres in the 36th Junior National Championship which was held at Guwahati in Assam early this year.
Vidita had participated in the 600 metres race at the Singoor Nationals in 2019-20 season.
The Delhi Nationals will have a cut-off timing of 1.05 secs and all the three athletes will aim to cross the line inside the given time.
Dr Sharad Suryawanshi, Director, Department of Physical Education and Sports, RTMNU, wished all the players luck.
