‘Green Warrior’ and agricultural entrepreneur of Bastar region Dr Rajaram Tripathi will be honoured with ‘Tilka Manjhi National Award - 2021’ at a function to be held at Gandhi Peace Foundation in New Delhi on November 28. The selection committee of ‘Tilka Manjhi National Award - 2021’ unanimously approved the name of Dr Raja Ram Tripathi for this prestigious ‘Tilka Manjhi National Award-2021’. This distinguished award is given to an organisation or person engaged in selfless work for a long time in the service of tribal communities of the country, health, agriculture, education, promotion of environmental protection, etc.

 

An all-powerful selection committee of impartial selectors has been constituted for the selection of deserving candidates for the award. The country’s senior journalist Shivkumar Mishra is currently the chairman of this selection committee. Dr Tripathi has been doing selfless service for the tribals of Bastar, especially the youth and women, for the last three decades, the dense forest area of the country. Dr Tripathi is considered a serious thinker and expert in the country’s agriculture and problems related to farmers, agricultural and rural economics.

 

They have made their fields in Bastar as a laboratory, where they do research work on new crops and agricultural innovations. He is considered to be the theoretical architect of the current peasant movement of the country, but his concern has been purely focused on the problems of the farmers. Influenced by Gandhiji and Vinobaji’s ideology, Dr Tripathi has always been completely away from any kind of party political agenda, and has encouraged the tribal community to promote the country’s agriculture, environment and biodiversity conservation and especially the country’s vanishing forest medicines. The task of saving has been made the goal of his life. He has also been honored with the international prestigious “Green Warrior Award” in the work of environmental protection.
