Bharatiya Janata Party took out a grand morcha on Monday demanding to roll back hiked charges in Gunthewari Act. BJP also demanded to provide ration to needy. The march started from Yashwant Stadium at 12 noon and reached Akashwani Chowk at 1 o'clock where it converted into a rally. City President and MLC Pravin Datke, MLC Girish Vyas, former Minister Dr Parinay Fuke, MLAs Krishna Khopde, Mohan Mate, Vikas Kumbhare, Mayor Dayashankar Tiwari, State Vice-President Sanjay Bhende, former Member of legislation Anil Sole, Dr Milind, Mane, Former chairman of Maharashtra Buildings and Other Construction Worker's Welfare Board (MBOCWWB) Omprakash alias Munna Yadav, former Standing Committee Chairman Virendra Kukreja, Nagpur Municipal Corporation Law Committee Chairperson Adv Dharmapal Meshram, Archana Dehankar, Ashwini Jichkar, Avinash Thakre were on the stage! State General Secretary Chandrasekhar Bavankule said that during the COVID period, food grains were given to every person free for 19 months by the Central Government. New ration cards were created due to online process but Mahavikas Aaghadi Government stopped online and stopped linking ration card with Aadhaar link.
It is selling ration in open market and filling own coffers. Government should immediately start online process and give the ration to everyone. Leveling allegations further Bawankule said, “The State Government has raised the gunthewari plot rate from Rs 56 to Rs 168 and made it impossible for the poor to buy their houses. Fadnavis Government had availed the benefits of houses to the poor under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna (PMAY) due to which people got their own roof over their heads. Bharatiya Janata Party will never tolerate the injustice made to the poor. The party will struggle till the charge of ration and goonthewari is reduced to the poor.
BJP has warned that it would gherao Nagpur Improvement Trust (NIT). Pravin Datke handed over the deputation to Collector and appraised her about the demands. The morcha reached statue of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar and paid respect to Dr Ambedkar. It reached at All India Radio Chowk.
