A major fire broke out on the third floor of Kamla Nehru Hospital situated at the premises of Hamidia Hospital on Monday night. Sensation prevailed after the fire incident and people started to scream for help. Eight fire tenders rushed to the spot to control the fire. Till the filing of the story, efforts were being made to control the fire and rescue operation was underway. Fire Control Room of Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) told ‘The Hitavada’ that the fire broke out on third floor of Kamla Nehru Hospital where paediatric ward is situated. Thick smoke prevented the fire fighters in controlling the fire. A driver of one of the fire tenders, Arif told ‘The Hitavada’ that there is thick smoke billowing out and fire fighters are trying to control the fire incident.
 
It is learnt that no sooner did the news of fire incident spread, Medical Education Minister Vishwas Sarang, DIG Irshad Wali (Contd on page 2) and other senior officers rushed to the spot. The unconfirmed news said that some admitted children got injured in the fire incident. The cause behind the fire incident could not be known immediately. It is learnt that some doctors and people along with their children got trapped on third floor of Kamla Nehru Hospital and rescue operation was underway to rescue them.
