Chhattisgarh Forest and Climate Change Department has been planning to develop another Jungle Safari at Ramchua-Harmo sprawling over 191 hectares of land in Kawardha district. Forest Minister Mohammad Akbar convened a meeting of forest officials regarding the proposed jungle safari at his office on Monday. Jungle Safari will have modern facilities for the tourists. Mohammad Akbar said the jungle safari should be developed without inflicting any harm to natural resources. He said a circuit will be formed by connecting the jungle safari to Bhoramdev Mandir and other tourists and historical monuments. He directed officials to chart out the proposal for the new jungle safari, which will have animals like tiger, leopard, white tiger, bear, deer, Sambhar, blue bulls and other animals/birds. The project cost is estimated to around Rs 75 crore and is expected to be completed within 3 years.
 
Officers gave power point presentation of new safari. The officers told the Minister that action plan for the jungle safari at Ramchua-Harmo has been prepared. It will be situated at the foot of a hill full of natural beauty, grandeur and a scenic place for the tourists. There will be no harm to the forest from jungle safari. A check-dam will be built in catchment area inside Safari. Besides, natural streams will also be managed properly. An Administrative Zone will be built at the gates of jungle safari, where facilities like ticket counter, food zone, toilets, parking etc will be built. A road will be built from jungle safari to the hills for strolling of tourists. Minister asked officials to follow the guidelines of Central Ministry of Environment in development of safari. Special care should be given in deciding what kind of animals can be kept there and to prepare a congenial environment for them. Akbar also gave several other instructions regarding facilities at the safari. The meeting was attended by CREDA member Kanhaiya Agrawal, Kisan Sahu, Forest Principal Secretary Manoj Pingua, Principal Chief Conservator of Forest (PCCF) & Chief Wildlife Warden Rakesh Chaturvedi, PCCF wildlife Narsimha Rao, CCF Durg Shalini Rain, Kawardha Divisional Forest Officer Dilraj Prabhakarand subject expert Jitendra Singh.
