Defying the orders of the police, thousands of Gor Banjara community members took out Maha Akrosh Morcha on Friday for strict against the four accused arrested in the sensational Shyam Rathod murder case in Kali Daulat Khan village. Assistant Collector and Sub-Divisional Officer Swankumar accepted the memorandum from the delegation of community and assured immediate action in the case. It is gathered that some political leaders and the Police Department had asked Gor Sena not to take out morcha. But, Gor Sena Chief Sandesh Chavan clearly mentioned that they won’t tolerate injustice and intensify the agitation all over the State if their demands are not granted in a month. Earlier, the District Police Department had refused permission to the morcha and also issued orders against gathering of people. An appeal was also made to the organisation in a press conference for not taking out the morcha. But, Gor Sena was firm on its decision. Considering the possibility of large number of people participating in the morcha from various district of the State, elaborate security arrangement was made by the cops and reserved police teams from other districts were also summoned to control the situation.

 

Despite stopping vehicles outside the town and imposing nakabandi on roads leading to Pusad, thousands of people from Hingoli, Parbhani, Nandedd, Washim and Yavatmal districts gathered near Vasant Garden later marched towards Vasantrao Naik Chowk where it turned into public gathering. MLA Indranil Naik also reached the spot and tried to pacify to people, but they didn’t allow him to address the gathering. Meanwhile, SDO Sawankumar accepted a memorandum to the delegation and assured the gathering of taking speedily action in the case. He won the hearts of agitating people by interacting with them in Banjara language. Notably, a youth Shyam Rathod was brutally murdered at Kali Daulat village while his cousin brother Laxman was also attacked with a knife. People have demanded noose for the accused and life imprisonment for the co-accused. They have also demanded to run the trial in the fast track court.
