THE Season 4 of country’s first multisport grassroot sports festival ‘Khasdar Krida Mahotsav’ — to be publicised as Chak de, Khelo Nagpur Khelo — will be held from January 2-16. After a pandemic-forced gap of almost two years, KKM4 was launched in a grand ceremony at the Suresh Bhat Sabhagruh, Reshimbagh, on Saturday. Over 1200 players and officials joined the launch event where former star drag-flicker of Indian men’s hockey team Sandeep Singh and doubles specialist shuttler Jwala Gutta graced the first function of Season 4 of KKM, a brainchild of Union Minister for Road and Highways Nitin Gadkari. City’s Member of Parliamant Gadkari presided over the function and announced the dates and various sporting disciplines that will be played across all corners of the city in the fourth edition of the sporting extravaganza. Chief Convenor of the event and former Mayor Sandip Joshi made introductory remarks. Arjuna award winners in hockey and badminton respectively, Sandeep and Jwala also released a Coffee Table Book of the country’s first multisport festival.
