Though Laxminarayan Institute of Technology (LIT) is awaiting its autonomy status, its alumni have come up with dream plans. Madhav Labhe, who will take charge as Chairman of LIT Alumni Association (LITAA) in 2022, pointed out, he has a dream for his alma mater. “We have planned several projects for LIT of which one is LIT Incubation Centre to be set up in 3,000 sq ft area. We have received 12 projects for the centre. We are hopeful of starting the project by mid-January 2022,” revealed Labhe. The second project that is in the list of LITAA is of developing pilot plant. It will come up on 4,000 sq ft land. Anything is to be set up need primary support. This pilot plant will provide the same, Labhe added. Sachin Palsokar, Joint Secretary, said, “Several people might not be aware, but LIT’s placement record is excellent. The average package is Rs 25 lakh. Secondly, the cut-off per centage during admission is at higher level. Unfortunately, these things do not reflect as the institute is still not autonomous.

Proper branding of the institute can make a difference.” Vowing to make placement more aggressive, Labhe stated, “We are in touch with Vidarbha Industries Association, Vidarbha Economic Council and all such associations to have better placements for the students of LIT.” LIT has produced over 6,000 Chemical Engineers and Technologists since inception in 1942.

The institute celebrated platinum jubilee in 2016-17. LITAA, in last five years, has implemented many projects at LIT that include infrastructure development or modernisation research or educational equipment such as student welfare activities including scholarships, mentoring, training and placement support etc aims to build a vibrant alumni network dedicated to core objectives of LITAA under the theme 'One Dream, One Team' through this Global Alumni Meet 2021. Another important objective of the alumni meet is to Galvanize alumni engagement to unfold a new era in LITs march towards autonomy of the institute and greater glory in all the spheres. The event has evoked great gestures of appreciation and support from all LITAA chapters at Nagpur, Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Bengaluru as well as the USA, Europe, Middle East and South East with participation numbers increasing by the day from globally placed alumni.
