Dr Rajaram Tripathi, hailing from Kondagaon district, was felicitated with ‘Tilka Manjhi National Award-2021’ in a function held at the auditorium of GPF, Delhi recently. Chairperson of Gandhi Peace Foundation Radha Bhatt and Rajya Sabha Member Dushyant Kumar Gautam were present as special invitees in the programme. Dr Rajaram Tripathi, the agricultural entrepreneur of Bastar, received the awards from the guests in the programme. Addressing the programme, Dushyant Kumar Gautam announced that the revolutionary martyr ‘Tilkamanjhi’ memorial will be built in the country and in Bhagalpur so that the new generations can know and take inspiration from his sacrifice. Senior journalist Shivkumar Mishra, Prasun Latant and others were present in the programme.
 
It may be mentioned that the award is conferred on an organisation or person engaged in selfless work for a long time in the service of tribal communities of the country in field of health, agriculture, education, promotion and protection of environmental etc. Dr Tripathi has been serving selflessly for the last three decades for the tribals of Bastar, the dense forest area of the country, especially for the youth and women. He is considered a serious thinker and expert in the country’s agriculture and problems related to farmers, agricultural and rural economics.
