In the ongoing 38th State Amateur Boxing Championship being organised at Wright Town Stadium, various exciting bouts were held, on Thursday. In the round of bouts played right from morning players of TT Nagar Stadium Bhopal and Jabalpur maintained their dominance. On day four, in the senior, youth, junior and sub-junior categories matches were played. Proinently present and encouraged participant players include International Boxing Coach, Roshan Lal, Girdhari, Tarnesh Pawan, Abhay Bhati, Vikas Dubey, Sanjay Mishra, Pankaj, Praveen and others were present. The State Amateur Boxing Championship is being played under the direction of Madhya Pradesh Boxing Association, Technical Director, Virendra Singh Thakur.

 

The prize distribution and concluding ceremony of the competition will be organised on March 12 from 4 pm in gracious presence of MP, Rakesh Singh as chief guest. MLA Ashok Rohani will preside over the programme. Results of matches played on Thursday in the Boxing Competition under Junior Category in Semi-final round (50-52kg) Ayush Shrivas of Narsinghpur routed Dhruv Gurjar of Gwalior by 5-0. TT Nagar Bhopal routed Yuvraj of Katni and Rudrajeet Singh of Jabalpur defeated Gaurva of Gwalior in 52-54 kg category.

 

Youth Category Semi-final round witnessed exciting matches between the players. In 46-49 kg weight group Anurag Kumar of SAI Bhopal routed Darpan Khel Sansthan, Gwalior. Sarvesh Patele defeated Satna’s Shivansh in second round, in third matrch in 52-54 kg group Abishek Gwalior routed TT Nagar Bhopal’s Suraj Saini and in 60-63 kg category TT Nagar Bhopal routed Satna’s Pawan Singh and qualified for the third round. In Senior group matches spectators enjoyed the power game as well as classic boxing works by the player. In different weight groups Nitin Jatav of SAI Bhopal, Mahendra Pratap Darpan, Bhupendra Singh of TT Nagar Bhopal, Kapil Sharma of Indore, Aryan of Jabalpur, Abinav of TT Nagar Bhopal, Tushart, Adita of Jabalpur and Sanskar of Sidhi took advance for next round.
