‘Businesses should go digital to connect with audience’

MIDC Industries Association (MIA) Hingna and GIZ India jointly conducted a free webinar on the topic ‘Digital Marketing – Now or Never’ recently. The expert speaker for the session was Shishant Mahato, professional digital marketing trainer having trained over 1,500 professionals across India and founder of ‘Digital Magnet’. Mahato is also associated with prestigious institutions like MCED, MSSDS and online learning platforms like Upgrad and Udemy as expert faculty. He is also known world over for his training video on ‘Advanced Facebook Marketing’. “It has become essential for businesses to go the digital way to connect with their potential audience. Digital marketing will greatly help businesses reach their audience in an effective way,” said Mahato.
 
He started with a brief introduction to the topic of ‘Digital Marketing’ and the major components in it like social media marketing, social media optimisation, search engine marketing and search engine optimisation. He explained these components with examples for businesses to implement. He also explained as how video will rule the digital marketing world and gave examples of it through various statistics, surveys and what are the best platforms to leverage the video content. Artificial Intelligence (AI) which is a fast emerging technology will be the next big thing in digital marketing space, he added. Automation is fast making inroads and this is being implemented for auto messages, auto followers in social media widely, which he explained to the online audience.
 
Shishant explained the difference between inbound vs outbound marketing. Influencer marketing which is gaining momentum as a way of promoting a particular brand mainly due to increasing number of influencers in the social space was also covered in the webinar. Mahato gave a list of the various tools that would be useful for businesses in promoting their products or services online. C G Shegaonkar, President of MIA Hingna said that the aim of conducting this webinar was to introduce and help businesses in making their digital presence. Also to market their products and services effectively through digital marketing for their benefit. Dr Ravindra Aher from GIZ India moderated the question-answer session.
