BHOPAL,
Madhya Pradesh’s popular tiger Munna that was brought to Van Vihar National Park from Kanha in October 2019 died of old age on Sunday. The tiger was not taking proper diet and was unable to walk since past five days. On February 2, the park officials witnessed partial paralysis in his legs.
The big cat was not responding well. According to park officials, the tiger was 19-year- old. His treatment was going on under veterinary doctors but on Sunday morning he was found dead as his organs failed all of a sudden. Till March 1, the tiger was taking food properly and was responding normally. On March 2, when he went back to his enclosure after food, the caretaker witnessed that he was not taking weight on his hind leg and was not walking properly. Veterinary doctors examined the tiger and detected weakness in his hind leg.
He seemed to be paralysed which is common in old age in cat species. Van Vihar team was monitoring Munna for 24 hours and all necessary treatment was being ensured to the big cat. The park officials informed that in February too Munna was suffering from similar problem but after treatment, he was fit and fine.
