Nagpur distt witnesses improvement in COVID-19 recovery rate

 

 

 

There was constant fall being witnessed in COVID-19 recovery rate of Nagpur district. But on Sunday after almost a week, the recovery rate rose to 90.34%. A good number that is to say 1,160 persons became corona-free. This has taken the cumulative recovery to 1,42,489. Still, COVID-19 recovery in Nagpur district is not matching with the number of new cases. On Sunday too, 1,268 persons tested positive for this dreaded virus. Nagpur rural registered 231 new cases while in city 1,037 persons came positive for coronavirus.

 

 

 

With these, the cumulative positive cases reached to 1,56,768. Active cases continued to rise. District has registered 10,850 active cases. The COVID-19 death count came down to 4 with Nagpur rural registering one death and three deaths reported in city taking the cumulative death count to 3,662. The testing count in one single day has too gone up to 9,352. Nagpur rural reported 2,344 testing while city witnessed 7,008 testing taking the cumulative testing to 13,09,009. The samples examined through RT PCR were 7,277 while 2,075 were through Rapid Antigen Test. Apart from the samples of Nagpur district, the people from Nagpur and out of city approached various laboratories in Nagpur to get themselves examined.

 

The samples came for examination at various laboratories in Nagpur include virology laboratory of Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Hospital (IGGMCH) (1,317), Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) (1,265), molecular diagnostic laboratory of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) (449), National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (NEERI) (171), Centre for Zoonosis, Nagpur Veterinary College affiliated to Maharashtra Animal Fisheries Sciences University (MAFSU) (0), Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU) (389) private laboratories (3,686), Antigen (2,075).
