While the State police on Friday reintroduced the e-pass system for inter-state and inter-district travel in “extreme emergency” situations, there will be no need to get e-pass to travel within city.
Commissioner of Police (CP) Amitesh Kumar said that the citizens can opt their e-pass from e-pass portal: https://covid19.mhpolice.in/.
However, passes will not be given for travelling in city, he said.
It may be mentioned that the police had issued passes for travelling in the city as well as inter-district travel through the portal last year.
The top cop also said, the e-pass is only meant for the personal use of citizens to facilitate their journey in an emergency.
Nagpur city, which has faced an unprecedented surge in coronavirus cases, was already under severe restrictions since April 14 and the fresh “lockdown-like” curbs were announced on Wednesday. The city recorded a total of 7485 cases on Friday.
