State doctor selected to work on COVID vaccine in Harvard University

Doctor Pragya Chandrakar, a research scientist from Mahasamund has been selected by Harvard University to work on COVID vaccine. Dr Pragya is youngest daughter of Gajanand Chandrakar, a teacher and Manju Chandrakar. She completed her schooling from Kendriya Vidhyalaya. Dr Pargya was ranked 55th in CSIR-JRF and completed her PhD in CSIR-CDRI from Lucknow. The papers she published during her doctorate was selected for Harvard. She is working as a Post Doctoral Research Fellow at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and is working on the medicine of Tuberculosis and Kalajar. Dr Pargya said that she still cannot believe that she has been selected. She added that it is very important for one to have passion, as it is the key to success.
 
“I have worked hard during my PhD and based on my research papers published, I have been selected for Harvard,” said Dr Pargya. She added that she will use the best resources from Harvard and will work hard on her research and will return to India after qualifies as a scientist and will make her parents proud. She said that she aspired to work for the benefits of the country. She also credited her success to mentor and guide Dr Sushantkar and thanked God for patience and motivation. Dr Pragys’s parents said that they are very proud on her achievement.
