‘Be Aware’ app is a matter of discussion in Regina city of Canada
A group of city-based engineering students brought laurels to Nagpur by developing a road safety mobile application ‘Be Aware’ for Canada recently. Five students Vedant Boratkar (J D College of Engineering and Management), Nidhey Indurkar, Sarthak Kore (both from Anjuman College of Engineering and Technology), Lalit Nikhade and Tushar Gabhne (both from Priyadarshani College of Engineering) from different engineering colleges of Nagpur teamed up to develop the mobile app for the Regina city, in Saskatchewan State of Canada.
Take IT Ideas, a city-based IT Company provides a one-year-long internship opportunity to Final Year engineering students every year in different industries. This year, the company, got chance to offer students an international internship in Canada. “It is a matter of proud for us that this year we provided an international opportunity to students and they received success too in their project,” said Pratap Shukla, IT Product Architect and Guide while talking to ‘The Hitavada’. “The administration of Ragina city asked for a mobile app that should help them in road safety in the city. It took six months for research and six months for its development,” said Shukla. The app is launched in Canada for Apple and Android users and is very much appreciated by citizens of Regina city.
The social bodies and media in Regina are also promoting this road safety app. The project received appreciation for its quality and useful features. “Skill development comes from more exposure. We are creating opportunities for students to work on such industry grade projects for last many years. Students are keen to work if guided properly and they can be asset to the industry,” said Shukla. Shukla further said, if the team get opportunity then they can make such road safety app for cities in India also.
