AS MANY as 8 chess trainers from Nagpur city have been declared successful in the All India Chess Federation (AICF) Chess Trainer Exam as per results announced by AICF. The names of successful trainers from Nagpur are — Jeetendra Thakre, Vilas Nerkar, Govind Bhake, Shiva Iyer, Palash Nagdevte, Dattatraya Vaidya, Alok Thakre and Ritik Mohadikar. Certificates to successful candidates will be issued in due course. In all 14 participants from Nagpur had enrolled their names for the training programme.
Results of the successful candidates were recently announced by All India Chess Federation. AICF has informed that all the unsuccessful participants can re-appear in the online exam again for which they have to go through an online supplementary session, which will be intimated soon. The training programme was conducted by AICF for imparting certified training to chess players/coaches to get their trainer titles and certificate under AICF to impart chess playing culture at grassroot level. The training session was conducted in April 2021 and exam was conducted in the month of May. The entire schedule of the training programme was conducted online. The successful trainers would now work under AICF for imparting training at various grassroot level projects including ‘Chess in School’ programme for development of the game.
