Dr Rajesh Dhruv saved many children suffering from deadly diseases in Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh. Five years back, Dr Rajesh Dhruv was posted as a Child specialist in District Hospital of Dantewada. He treated patients suffering from malnutrition, Japanese encephalitis, sickle cell and malaria. Life was challenging in remote areas of Dantewada and taking care of small children was a herculean task for him as some area during rainy season gets isolated. However, by the efforts of Dr Dhruv Sick New Burn Care Unit was established where so far over 1,500 new-born babies were cured.
 
Vaccination drive was conducted and 20 bedded Nutrition Rehabilitation Centre was established in January 2017 in District hospital. So far over 1,157 babies were admitted and out of which 1,145 were successfully made malnutrition free. Earlier sick children were referred to Jagdalpur hospital and there is a decline in the referral cases as compared to previous year. Through Kangaroo mother care technique he saved lives of many under-weight children. Presently Dr Dhruv is Nodal officer of COVID 19 vaccination, keeping in mind his dedicated service as Child Health Nodal officer he has been given responsibility of safety from third wave of COVID 19.
 
These days through virtual medium he prescribes medicines to the patients. Due to his efforts his picture was printed in Times magazine of London. The saved a child who was suffering from bacterial infection due to which her skin was getting damage. By effective care baby was cured and saved. On February 2019, CM Bhupesh Baghel awarded Dr Dhruv during state level function. He was awarded with Best Rural Pediatrician Award in 2020 by Chhattisgarh Indian Academy of Pediatrician Association. Dr Dhruv informed that there is lack of awareness among the people of Dantewada specially those living in remote areas, therefore through health camps he create awareness and give training to local mitanins and health workers.
