Team PHQ Elite-A emerged as a winner of Ratnesh Guru Badminton Inter-Club Tournament which concluded at TT Nagar Stadium in Bhopal on Monday. PHQ Supreme-B was runner up of the tournament. In the finals of the tournament, PHQ Elite thrashed PHQ Supreme by 3-0. Sanjay Dubey and Kulwant Puri won the best duo award. Director Sports and Youth Welfare, Pawan Jain said that the tournament was organised from July 10 to 12 in the memory of eminent sportsperson late Ratnesh Guru.
He said that this tournament is an attempt to remove the despair of the players during the Covid period. Badminton is the most popular sports in the world after cricket. The Sports Director also said that this is the first competition being played at the badminton court of the Tatya Tope stadium after the completion of its renovation work. Minister, Urban and Housing Development, Bhupendra Singh was the chief guest of the prize distribution ceremony. While addressing the closing ceremony, Minister said that both the teams played with great enthusiasm and good stamina. He also congratulated both winning and runner-up teams on this occasion.
