 Ceremony to distribute 66th Railway Week awards organised
 
 
With a pledge to improve the prevailing work culture across different Railway Zones, 66th Railway Week awards were organised at Rail Saurabh Officer Club of Western Central Railway (WCR) in accordance with Covid protocols. The railway employees were awarded for their outstanding contribution to Western Central Railway. WCR General Manager Shailendra Kumar Singh and Mahila Kalyan Sangathan, President Archana Singh inaugurated the award ceremony by lighting a traditional lamp. Speaking on the occasion, General Manager Shailendra Kumar Singh praised the railway employees for their achievements. Praising the medical staff including paramedical staff for working with devotion, he said that they saved the lives of 1,958 infected Covid-19 patients.
 
General Manager Singh said that Western Central Railway achieved many accomplishments in the year 2021-21 and 2021-22. These include complete electrification of 3,102 km of Western Central Railway’s rail route, maintaining an average speed of 60 km/hr of goods trains from consecutive five months, completion of doubling and tripling work of 80 km within three months, installation of IBS at major railway routes, increase in loading capacity by 35 per cent in 2021-22 in comparison to last year and construction of FOB, coach guidance board, lift, escalators for the convenience of passengers and installation of Automatic Coach Washing Plant in Kota division.
 
WCR General Manager Shailendra Singh said that more than 41,000 railway employees have been vaccinated so far. This includes 92 per cent of Railway employees aged 45 years and above and 71 per cent railway employees aged less than 45 years. Members of Mahila Kalyan Sangathan, Head of Departments, senior officers and employees were present during the ceremony.
