WCR’s maintenance depot creates record

despite facing challenges during ongoing second wave of Covid-19 pandemic, the maintenance depot of Western Central Railway (WCR) has registered maximum Periodic Overhauling (POH) out-turn during routine overhauling of coaching and wagons. The maintenance depot made a record in POH out-turn as it crossed the set targets by 34 per cent. The employees and officers of Coach Rehabilitation Workshop (CRWS) Bhopal and Wagon Repair Shop (WRS), Kota, under the guidance of WCR General Manager Shailendra Kumar Singh, performed POH out-turn of 770 coaches and wagons. The CRWS workshop of Bhopal performed POH out-turn of 115 coaches and wagons and crossed the set targets by more than 55 percent. Similarly, Wagon Repair Shop of Kota performed POH Outturn of 655 coaches and wagons in June 2021.
 
The WRS Kota created a record as it crossed the set targets by 31 per cent. The POH of wagons is done once in 4.5 years and 6 years. The POH of coaches is done once between 12 to 18 months. The CRWS of Bhopal performs POH of coaches and WRS of Kota performs POH of wagons. The maintenance depot checks trolleys, bogies and other parts for damage and repairs them. To ensure comfortable journey for passengers, the maintenance depot repairs the worn-out body and under gear parts. The air-break system parts and buffer sides of coaches and wagons are checked for smooth operation of trains.
