“Jabalpur is now unknown to me as I started my political career as a student leader during my education in this city. It is an opportunity for me to have the charge of Jabalpur and no stone will be left unturned for overall development of the district,” said Public Works, Cottage, Rural Industry Minister and district in-charge, Gopal Bhargava, while addressing a press conference, on Friday.

After his two-day visit in the district, Minister Bhargava informed that he chaired primary meeting after taking up charge as in-charge minister. In the three-hour-long meeting, he come to know of several problems and got suggestions from public representatives. He asked the public representatives to submit their problems and suggestions in writing for solving local level problems after discussion with officers and rest of the issues would be discussed with the Chief Minister and concerned ministers.

Bhargava expressed his satisfaction over preparations made for projected third wave of COVID-19 in the district and asked the medical officers about more requirements to strengthen the health facilities. He reviewed the problems pertaining to ongoing projects of Smart City and Fly Over while condition of roads is the core of concern during meeting. He gave necessary directions for solving public problems regarding ongoing projects and quality of road and assured that the roads will be constructed right after the monsoon session.

He informed that efforts are being made for maintaining better coordination between administrative officers and public representatives for better materialisation of development projects and addressing the problems of residents.

Discussions were held for preparations for projected third wave in district with public representative, administrative and medical officers. He is satisfied with the preparations and ongoing development works. Replying to a query, Bhargava said that he will soon conduct physical verification of damaged highways for ensuring their better condition and will take prompt action on suggestions to pave the way over all development of Jabalpur.
