LANCASTER Cricket Club’s professional player Vidarbha all-rounder Atharva Taide’s fifty was instrumental in his team’s close seven-run win over Netherfield Cricket Club, Cumbria in Northern Premier Cricket League Division One cricket tournament at Netherfield Cricket Club. Asked to bat first, Lancaster were bowled out for 181 in 36 overs with one-down Taide contributing a well-compiled 51.

 

His 55-ball knock contained six hits to the ropes and one over it. He got good support from opener Eddie Steinson (27) and skipper Laurie Atkinson (33). Rolling his left-arm over, the orthodox bowler bowled economically (12.1-2-33-1) lending a helping hand as Lancaster bundled out the opponents for 174 in 41.1 for a close win. For the winners, Damar Graham (5-49) and Ben Simm (4-55) were the most successful bowlers.
