Citizens witnessed one of the rare incidents, overflow of Gorewada Lake on Monday. The water level of the lake increased to maximum due to constant moderate to heavy rains in and around Nagpur city. On Monday morning, the lake water crossed the overflow level of 315.65 mtrs as Nagpur district overcame rainfall deficit following to good rains in September. Water level of Ambazari lake already crossed the overflow mark in August end.

 

Indian Meteorological Department has forecast more rains in the district in next two-three days which will see the district further improve water storage in reservoirs. In last 24 hours, Nagpur received 10.2 mm rainfall.
