Maitree Pariwar felicitates Dr Welukar, PETs

 

 

 

Maitree Pariwar felicitated Dr Dhananjay Welukar with Lifetime Achievement Award for his devotion towards sports for the past several years. The felicitation function was graced by Dr Arjunsingh Rana, Vice-Chancellor, Swarnim Gujarat Sports University, Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad. Dr Sanjay Dudhe, Pro-VC, Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University was the chief guest during the function held at Sai Sabhagruh. Prof Sanjay Bhende presided over the programme. Speaking during the occasion, Dr Rana said that physical education should be included in academic curriculum from KG to PG courses. “Physical Education Teachers (PETs) plays an important in nation building. They help in making the nation healthy and strong,” said Dr Rana. On the occasion, Dr Tejsingh Jagdale, HOD, Sports, Nabira Mahavidyalaya, Katol and Dr Kumud Charmode of Rani Laxmibai Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Sawargaon were felicitated as best teachers in college category.

 

Ashfaque Sheikh, PET of Dadibai Deshmukh Hindu Mulinchi Shala along with Suhasini Bhore of Navjivan Matimand Shala, received the best teachers award in schools’ category. Dr Sharad Suryawanshi, Director, Department of Physical Education and Sports, RTMNU, made introductory remark while Dr Aditya Soni proposed a vote of thanks. A selection committee under the chairmanship of Dr Sonali Sirbhate of Priyadarshini Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Wardha was formed to pick the winners. The committee also had Dr Subhash Gawande (Shivaji Arts and Commerce College, Amravati), Dr Asha Bengle (Abasaheb Garware College, Pune) and Dr Sanjay Tirathkar (Degree College of Physical Education, Hanuman Vyayam Prasarak Mandal, Amravati.
