The recent surge of COVID-19 cases in the country with the newly-found variant of Omicron had led to strict measures and guidelines released by the Government of Maharashtra. This outbreak had raise a concern with the local authorities and fitness studio and gyms were one of the first places which were shut initially after a notification on January 8, which was changed the next day itself and such centres were allowed to operate at 50 per cent capacity for only fully vaccinated staff and members.
Sandip Bagdai, partner at Cult.fit center in Nagpur, said how their recently started center had already been following COVID-19 guidelines including thorough sanitisation of the workout area after each class and making the center as automated and removal of all physical touch points other than workout area. They have also made sure there are limited slot available for each class to avoid over-crowding even during peak hours.
