Belbagh police have apprehended one of the accused involved in lobbing country-made bombs on a house and seized five country-made bombs from him.
Police took out Juloos of the accused from police station towards the court. SP Siddharth Bahuguna had declared cash rewards of Rs 4,000 each for giving information or apprehending the accused.
The arrested has been identified as Jishan Ali alias Billu (24), a resident of Mahaveer Compound, Sadar while another accused named Kamran is still at large.
According to Belbagh police, at round 3.45 am on January 22, Yashir Mansuri (27), a resident of Chhoti Omti Chowk lodged a complaint that at around 2.15 am he was sleeping in his house when he heard noise of a blast. He came out from the house and witnessed remains of country-made bomb and two unidentified men were escaping on a scooter. He charged that, on January 18, the miscreants named Jishan alias Billu Ali, Lucky Mishra and Kamran attacked his mother Roshan Bi in his house over an old rivalry and expressed doubt that Jishal Ali could be behind the incident.
Belbagh police registered a case under Sections 286 of IPC and Sections 3, 5 of Explosive Act. While investigating the case, police obtained CCTV footages and identified the accused as Billu alias Jishan and Kamran. Continuing a thorough search, police succeeded in apprehending one of the accused Jishan Ali and seized 5 country-made bombs from him while a rigorous search is underway to apprehending another accused Kamran.
