A unique three-day exhibition of beautiful handicraft sarees, other garments and plastic substitute paper pens created painstakingly by poor rural women empowered by De’haat concluded Sunday at South Central Zone Cultural Centre (SCZCC) after evoking good response from citizens all three days. Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari inaugurated the exhibition Friday appreciating the initiative, evincing keen interest in the exhibits and in the live demonstration of hand-crafted textile production process.
 
SCZCC director Dr Deepak Khirwadkar and deputy director Gauri Marathe lent unstilted support on behalf of their partnering organisation. Among those visiting the exhibition were Chitkala Zutsi, former additional chief secretary, Government of Maharashtra and Seatle based NRI Menaka Soni who hugely promotes traditional Indian art and De’haat created products in US and Canada.
