RAIPUR,
Responding to the Enforcement Directorate’s raid in State, Former Chief Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National Vice-President Dr Raman Singh issued a veiled warning to the officers who have a leaning to the Congress doing the bidding for Congress Government to mend their ways while there is still time.
In a press conference, Dr Raman Singh said Chhattisgarh’s image has been soiled in front of the nation and the world. Chhattisgarh has set new parameters of corruption. We had never imagined the ED would raid at the homes of so many officers while adding that they have been saying for over a year that Bhupesh Baghel is the ATM of Congress Party and Sonia Gandhi. Dr Raman Singh alleged that he has been claiming extortion is going on continuously. Congress has been fleecing Rs 25 per ton on coal for years and thousands of crores rupees have been extorted. Business community of the Korba, be it the hotelier, Pan shop, tea stall or from peon to collector, everyone knows who collects the money and where it is routed. This is nothing new. It’s the first time in the history that ED raided the homes of IAS officers in the state. The truth about Bhupesh Tax is slowly being revealed. The reaction of Bhupesh Baghel after the raid that the BJP can’t directly fight is also startling. BJP is capable of a direct fight and this government is set to depart, Dr Raman Singh asserted. Dr Raman Singh then went to warn, “Panja Chaap Officers, be Aware. If they don’t change their corrupt ways, no one will be spared. They should work honestly as there is not enough time. The officers should be aware. Bhupesh Baghel was already waiting for the agency since the day of the Income Tax (I-T) Department raid.” Responding to a question about damaged roads, Dr Raman Singh also questioned Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel as to why his government spends Rs 1700 crore alone in a single constituency of Patan whereas the entire Bastar and Surguja i.e. around 16 Vidhan Sabha constituencies get altogether only around Rs 1300 crore. Regarding the Jhiram Ghati case, Dr Raman Singh said that they worked according to the guidance of the then Manmohan Singhled Union Government.
