Connecting this with the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban), 61 families were provided pucca houses with all facilities, converging with 19 other central and state sponsored schemes, to the families of leprosy affected families residing in Asha Nagar of Rajnandgaon Municipal Corporation. This initiative brought an improvement in their lifestyle of these people. Similarly, in Nagar Panchayat, Gandai and Antagarh, special category beneficiaries were also provided with pucca housing and efforts were made to improve their lifestyle, so that now all those families are living with respect in the society. Appreciating these efforts for social upliftment in Chhattisgarh, the State has been selected for the award for outstanding performance in the category of ‘Best Community Oriented Projects’ for social upliftment projects. On the other hand, in Nagar Panchayat Patan won ‘Best Performing Nagar Panchayat’ for excellent work like providing housing to the beneficiaries on time and making attractive houses by completing a large number of houses against the sanctioned houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban).
