RAIPUR,
Former Chief Minister and BJP National Vice-President Dr Raman Singh has accused the Congress Government
of giving protection to the corrupt officials.
Dr Raman Singh wrote on his Tweeter account, “What else can be expected from “spokesperson of Corrupt people” other than the protection of “pro Congress officers”. According to the rules of Department of Personnel and Training, Government of India, there is a provision to suspend an officer if he is in custody for more than 48 hours, but this rule does not seem to apply in CG, does it? Are they waiting for the order of 10 Janpath?”
It may be mentioned that an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of 2009 batch Sameer Vishnoi working as the CEO of the Chhattisgarh Infotech Promotion Society was arrested by Enforcement Directorate (ED) under the Prevention of Money laundering Act on October 13 and a Special PMLA Court in Raipur extended the custody of the IAS officer by another six days on Friday.
Reacting to the tweet of Dr Singh, State Congress Media Chief Sushil Anand Shukla hit out at the allegations of former Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh and said that Dr Raman Singh is making statements as the Spokesman of the ED.
The ED has not submitted its detailed report to the State government regarding the arrest of IAS officer Sameer Vishnoi in the case. When the IAS officer is in police custody in more than 48 hours, the officer automatically gets
suspended, he told ‘The Hitavada’. Dr Raman Singh had run his previous government on the guidance of RSS Nagpur till 15 years in Chhattisgarh and so he thinks like this, he added. The Congress government is continuously taking action against the corrupt officers, Shukla asserted.
