SAIL Chairman visits Bhilai Steel Plant

 

 

 

SAIL CHAIRMAN Soma Mondal visited Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP) on Friday. She was received by Anirban Dasgupta, Director I/c (BSP) received at the airport on her arrival.

All Executive Directors at BSP welcomed Chairman, Mondal at Bhilai Niwas. A K Singh, Director (Technical), SAIL accompanied Chairman, Mondal on her visit to Bhilai Steel Plant.

Chairman, Mondal visited Safety Excellence Centre at first and various BSP units during the visit. Anirban Dasgupta, Director I/c (BSP); A K Singh, Director(Technical); A K Bhatta, ED (MM); Anjani Kumar, ED (Works); M M Gadre, ED (P&A); Tapan Sutradhar, ED (Mines); S Mukhopadhyay, ED (Projects); Dr. A K Panda, ED (Finance) were present during the Plant visit. During the visit Chairman-SAIL Soma Mondal inaugurated and dedicated to the Nation the revamped Blast Furnace-7 after its capital repair. BF-7 was blown-in after capital repair a couple of days before. Tapas Dasgupta, CGM I/c (Iron) was present on the occasion. This was followed by visits to Plate Mill, Sintering PlantIII and Ore Handling Plant. As part of the ongoing digital transformation initiatives in Bhilai Steel Plant, QR code-based Drawing Retrieval System was inaugurated in Sinter Plant-III at the hands of Chairman-SAIL, Soma Mondal. All the drawings and manuals of any electrical panel can be directly downloaded in mobile phones at site by scanning the QR code pasted on that panel with the help of this system. Chairman-SAIL and all the senior officers complimented the team for this tremendous achievement and team work. They said that this system will be very useful and should be implemented in other departments of the Plants of SAIL also. She also visited Devbaloda temple monument, PCB Centre and JLN Hospital and Research Centre. Dr. M Ravindranath, CMO I/c (M&HS); Dr. Pramod Binayake, CMO (M&HS) accompanied Chairman, SAIL on her visit to the hospital. In the afternoon she chaired a Plant Performance review on Bhilai Steel Plant at Ispat bhavan where Anirban Dasgupta, Director I/c(BSP); A K Singh, Director (Technical); A K Bhatta, ED (MM); Anjani Kumar, ED (Works); M M Gadre, ED (P&A); Tapan Sutradhar, ED (Mines); S Mukhopadhyay, ED (Projects); Dr A K Panda, ED (Finance); Dr M Ravindranath, CMO I/c (M & HS) and senior officers of Plant were also present. She also met members of Officers Association, trade union representatives and members of SC/ST association at Ispat Bhavan. SAIL Chairman left for Rajhara Mines in the evening
