Nagpur girls started their campaign on a winning note on the opening day of the Maharashtra State Sub-Junior Basketball Championship that started at Kolhapur on Friday.
In their opener, last year’s runners-up Nagpur thrashed Nanded 59-2.
It was an easy day in the office for the city lasses as they scored points at will.
Anandi Sonawane scored maximum 20 points for Nagpur while Arya Dagwar and Prassidhi Sonkar scored eight points each. Shrushti Bhagat (6), Sahi Khopde (4), Vidhi Gatlewar (4) were the other scorers. The quarterwise score was 16-2, 25-0, 10-0, 6-0. Nagpur boys got walkover.
